The court has selected a public defender to defend the appeals court of Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, who was sentenced to losing his seat in the first trial of a violation of the Public Official Election Act.
The Seoul High Court today (23rd) sent a notice to Lee that it has selected a public defender.
Earlier, the court recently sent a notice to select a public defender after CEO Lee did not appoint a lawyer.
However, if CEO Lee submits the appointment of a private lawyer, the selection of a public defender will be canceled.
