Cold weather was frequent this month, but there was no 'extreme cold wave' due to the Arctic cold.
Today (25th), Christmas Day, is expected to gradually ease the cold, continuing winter weather at the level of previous years.
Reporter Kim Min-kyung's report.

Yesterday (24th), a day before Christmas, the streets of Seoul, where the Salvation Army bell rang, were crowded with citizens coming and going in front of the Christmas tree.
This is because the cold continued below the average temperature until morning and around minus 5 degrees Celsius, but the temperature rose from daytime and the cold eased.
[Lee Ha-eun / Dobong-gu, Seoul: It's been cold and not cold recently]. It's less cold now, so I came out to hang out with my friends.]
This month, when it seemed to go back and forth between the cold and hot water by repeating the warm-up even after the cold.
Despite the frequent cold, there was no 'extreme cold wave' this month due to the so-called 'Arctic chill'.
Cold wave warnings have been issued in areas with severe cold, such as Gangwon-do and northern Gyeonggi-do, but no cold wave warnings have been issued in Seoul this winter.
This is because the temperature has not reached the standard of a cold wave special report that drops sharply by more than 10 degrees in a day or below minus 12 degrees.
Most of the cold wave warnings issued in Seoul in December over the past three years came from the Arctic.
As the Arctic cold came down, the temperature in Seoul dropped from minus 12 to below 15 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, this year, when there was no Arctic cold wave, the lowest temperature was only minus 7.7 degrees Celsius.
As there was no extreme cold overall, this Christmas is expected to remain at previous years' level without severe cold.
[Nam Min-ji / Meteorological Agency forecaster: Christmas morning temperatures will be around minus 5 degrees Celsius inland, but the temperature will rise during the day as the west wind blows gradually, which will be similar to normal.]
After that, the cold air will come down again from Thursday afternoon, and on Friday, the morning temperature in Seoul will drop back to minus 7 degrees Celsius, and the cold will start again.
After that, the cold will continue until the end of the year, but it is not expected to be at the level of an 'extreme cold wave'.
However, special care should be taken in health care as the temperature fluctuates greatly, which can worsen the cold.
