Regarding the controversy over singer Park Seo-jin's exemption from military service, KBS drew the line, saying, "There is no getting off 'Salim Nam'."

On the 27th, KBS 2TV's 'Guys Who Live 2' posted a viewer petition on the bulletin board, saying, "Park Seo-jin was exempted from the military for legal reasons. "We judged that nothing was morally or legally problematic enough to decide whether to appear on the program," he said. "Although military service is very important to the people of Korea, it has already been reported in various media that Park Seo-jin has been exempted from the military for legitimate reasons. There will be no suspension of appearances due to this," he said.

He also promised, "We are sorry that this controversy has caused a lot of viewers," adding, "We will approach it more sincerely so that there will be no misunderstanding and controversy as we observe and produce the personal lives of the cast."

It was belatedly known that Park Seo-jin complained of depression and insomnia due to family history and was exempted from the physical examination of the Military Manpower Administration. However, Park Seo-jin, who had already been exempted from the military in his early 20s, was criticized for "deceiving fans" because he expressed his will to join the military in a later interview.

In response, Park Seo-jin wrote on the fan cafe, "In November 2014, when I was 20 years old, I was judged to be subject to a seventh-grade reexamination by the military service examination. Since then, he has been re-examined several times and was finally diagnosed as a level 5 wartime worker in 2018, he said. "From more than 10 years ago to the present, hospitals have been taking drugs and psychological treatment at the same time."

When asked in an interview in the past, "I'm about to join the military soon, and my goal in the future, it was difficult to say that I had already been exempted from military service," he said. "So, my goal is to make a hit song." I didn't know this answer would become such a big deal," he explained.

Since then, KBS viewer petition boards have been bombarded with messages asking for "suspension of appearance," and several petitions supporting Park Seo-jin have been posted, sparking controversy.
