The police investigating the emergency martial law incident asked Presidential Chief of Staff Chung Jin-seok to attend, but the investigation was not conducted because Chief of Staff Chung did not come out.

The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters Special Investigation Team said yesterday (30th) that Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok did not attend and that there was no contact.

Director Chung explained that he is communicating with the special investigation team and coordinating the attendance schedule.

Earlier, on the 27th, Director Chung submitted a reason for not attending the steering committee's pending questions, saying to the National Assembly Steering Committee, "I was notified to attend as a defendant."
