As record cold waves and heavy snow hit Japan day after day, casualties are also continuing.
Six people have been killed and there has been a series of damage, including a road slide accident.
The weekend is expected to be a crisis, and the aftermath is expected to continue considerably even after the snow stops.

Snow is raging in the village and the houses barely see the roof.
There is a mountain of snow in the yard, and I can't even enter the front door.
Locals who have yet to reach snowplow are making their way by smashing the frozen snow themselves.

As heavy snow continues day after day, there are places where the amount of snow is close to 2m.

There have also been a series of casualties, with a woman in her 50s found dead in the snow near her home.
In Niigata Prefecture, snow sledding accidents continued throughout the road, with large trucks sliding and a hundred cars stalled.
Some Shinkansen lines slowed down and were delayed by about 50 minutes to their destination.
In some areas, such as Aomori Prefecture and Hokkaido, transportation of goods is also disrupted.
Concerned about isolation, residents rushed to purchase emergency food.

Many places, including parts of the metropolitan area, are expected to see more snow up to 60cm by the weekend.
The Japan Meteorological Administration has asked people to pay attention to various heavy snow damage such as traffic disruption and power outages caused by heavy snow and snowstorms.
