President Yoon-Trump aides discuss pending issues after impeachment bill passed

Shortly after the impeachment bill of President Yoon Suk Yeol passed the National Assembly last month, President Yoon reportedly met with a close aide to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump at his official residence.

A ruling party official said that Matthew Schlapp, co-chairman of the U.S. Conservative Union, visited his official residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul, shortly after the impeachment motion against President Yoon was passed by the National Assembly on December 14 last year.President

Yoon and Chairman Schlapp are said to have discussed pending political issues in South Korea, including martial law and impeachment.

Matthew Schlapp, who is known to be on a par with Trump, is the husband of Mercedis Schlapp, who served as director of the White House during Trump's first term, and leads the United States Conservative Union.
