The President's Office will review the formation of a "government joint investigation team" and the investigation of Pathstrack in the event of a leak of core technologies.

The government is considering forming a joint government investigation team for technology leakage crimes in the event of a national core technology leak incident and investigating it on a fast track.

The presidential office held a general meeting in the second half of this year with 14 ministries and others attending, presided over by Wang Yoon-jong, the third deputy chief of the National Security Office.

Participants predicted that if a joint investigation team is formed that combines the expertise of each institution, it will be able to quickly launch an investigation and respond thoroughly by eliminating blind spots in activities between institutions.

The meeting also discussed the performance and utilization plan of the "Korea-U.S.-Japan Innovative Technology Protection Network" and the "Comparative Study on the Legislation between Korea and the U.S. to advance the technology protection legislation."

In addition, the results of the operation of the Korea-U.S.-Japan Innovation Technology Protection Network, which was established through a high-level meeting of officials from Korea, the U.S. and Japan in April, were discussed, and a face-to-face meeting between officials from the three countries was decided to be held in Japan early next year.
