Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun reiterated that sending observers to Ukraine, which is at war with Russia, is different from sending troops and is necessary for our national interests.

Minister Kim told the National Assembly's National Defense Committee that dispatch of troops means sending troops with a certain command system, but observers are unarmed and have a small number of experts in a short period of time.

He added that it is not requested by the parties to the war or the United Nations, but we are trying to send it to them.
