The People's Power said that Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence in the first trial for violating the Public Official Election Act, and that it is only natural for the guilty to be punished.
Kwak Kyu-taek, a senior spokesman, said at a press conference at the National Assembly that no matter how much the Democratic Party of Korea used bulletproof shields and shook the judiciary, it could not undermine the unchanging truth.
He also pointed out that the allegations of violating the Public Official Election Act should be completed within a year after the indictment, but even the first trial sentence came out only two years and two months later, and that it is a waste of the word "absolutely wrong."
He then asked the representative Lee to humbly accept the results and sincerely apologize to the public, saying he hopes the court will make a strict and prompt judgment on the rest of the cases, including the allegations of perjury teachers and the Daejangdong allegations.
