The Ministry of Unification said it believes North Korea is operating more than 40 South Korean company-owned factories in the Kaesong Industrial Complex without permission.
An official from the Ministry of Unification told reporters today that it is believed to be operating our company's factory facilities without permission in view of vehicles and personnel entering the Kaesong Industrial Complex.
He then said that the Kaesong Industrial Complex facility seems to have been operating without permission because it is relatively better than any other facility in North Korea and has production infrastructure, and that this trend has been steadily increasing since last year.
Earlier, Voice of America and VOA reported that North Korea was caught using the Kaesong Industrial Complex without permission, with large objects appearing on the property owned by South Korean companies and buses disappearing from garages.
