The Air Force said Air Force Chief of Staff Lee Young-soo, U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff David Alvin and Japanese Air Self-Defense Force Chief of Staff Hiroaki Uchikura had a video conference.
The Air Force said this is the first time that the Air Force and Air Self-Defense Forces have held a chief-level meeting, and they have decided to further develop defense and security cooperation issues discussed by the leaders of the three countries and defense ministers through efforts at the Air Force level.
In addition, the meeting discussed ways to continue cooperation in promoting peace and stability in the region amid the heightened security environment of North Korea, and to expand joint exercises in the future.
