North Korean State Councilor Kim Jong-un has repeatedly expressed his willingness to secure the strongest defense capability, saying he has become convinced of his hostile North Korea policy through negotiations with the United States in the past.
Analysts say that the U.S.-North Korea dialogue could resume due to former President Trump's re-election, and that the conditions for the resumption of negotiations have been virtually laid.

Kim Jong-un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission, gave an opening speech at the North Korean Armed Equipment Exhibition held again following last year.
Chairman of the states Affairs Commission Kim said he has been to everywhere he can go to negotiations with the United States, and that what he finally confirmed was a thorough stance of power and an unchangeable hostile North Korea policy.
He mentioned that the two U.S.-North Korea summits during the first Trump administration were empty-handed, and it seems that he has vowed not to sit at the negotiating table with the U.S. again under the same conditions as in the past.
There was no direct comment, but it was actually the first reaction to Trump's re-election success.
He also reiterated that he has no intention of focusing on strengthening defense capabilities and negotiating denuclearization.

In the exhibition of armed equipment, various weapons systems unveiled by North Korea this year, including intercontinental ballistic missiles and ICBMs, were collected.
Solid-fuel ICBMs, including the Hwasong-19 type, which were first test-fired on the 31st of last month, and the Hwasong-18 type, which appeared in April last year, were displayed, and all kinds of military equipment, including hypersonic missiles and spy satellite projectiles, were brought to show off.
In particular, six unmanned aerial vehicles, including self-destructs, which Kim Jong-un ordered to mass-produce recently, were also on display, and some analysts say that they are considering exporting to Russia.
North Korea called then-Russian Defense Minister Shoigu to an arms exhibition held in August last year, and Kim Jong-un even guided him, which later led to the export of Russian artillery shells.
[Lim Eul-chul/Professor of Kyungnam University's Far East Studies Institute: The export of weapons to Russia can be an important resource for continuous weapons modernization or nuclear force advancement.]
The Unification Ministry says it makes clear that the arms trade between Russia and North Korea is a clear violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions and is an illegal act that undermines international norms.
