The Democratic Party of Korea urged the investigative agency to apply for the preservation of evidence, saying there is a possibility that President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Gun-hee may replace their personal mobile phones that they had been using since before taking office.

Spokesperson Han Min-soo met with reporters at the National Assembly and pointed out that if they are confident about various suspicions of state affairs manipulation, President Yoon and his wife should keep their existing mobile phones as they are.

Yoon Jong-gun, a spokesman for the party, also said in a briefing that the president and his wife's mobile phones are key evidence to find out all kinds of suspicions, ranging from external pressure on the investigation into the death of Chae Sang-byung to intervention in the nomination process.
