Ahead of the second vote on President Yoon's impeachment, the ruling and opposition parties will hold a general meeting of lawmakers each to gather opinions within the party.
In addition to the power of the people, the Democratic Party of Korea plans to finalize its position at the party level through a discussion by its lawmakers at the general assembly this morning (14th).
Earlier, the ruling party proposed "opposition to impeachment" as the party's theory in the first round of voting last week, and the result of the discussion is drawing attention as the new floor leader Kwon Sung-dong said at today's parliamentary meeting that he will gather the will of 108 lawmakers to decide whether to change the party's theory.
So far, a total of seven lawmakers have publicly expressed their "pro-impeachment" positions within the ruling party, including Ahn Cheol Soo, Kim Ye-ji, Kim Sang-wook, Cho Kyung-tae, Kim Jae-sup, Jin Jong-oh and Han Ji-ah.
