Rep. Jin Jong-oh of the People's Power dismissed reports that he voted against the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol, which was passed by the National Assembly on the 14th, as "clear falsehood."

On the 16th, Rep. Jin said on his Facebook page, "Today's article about me that 'I actually voted against impeachment' is clearly false," adding, "I did not make any of the above remarks at the parliamentary assembly immediately after the impeachment motion was passed."

Earlier in the day, the JoongAng Ilbo reported that among those of pro-Han Dong-hoon (pro-Korean) circles who publicly expressed their support for impeachment, Jin Jong-oh and Han Ji-ah, senior spokesperson, expressed their intention to abstain.

Rep. Jin dismissed the report as untrue, but did not give a definite answer on whether he voted in favor.

Earlier on the 14th, Rep. Jin, Jang Dong-hyuk, Kim Min-jeon, and In Yo-han, four members of the Supreme People's Power, expressed their resignation after taking responsibility for the approval of President Yoon's impeachment bill at the general meeting of lawmakers.

According to the People's Power Party Constitution and Party Regulations, if more than four elected supreme council members resign, the supreme council will be dissolved and converted to an emergency committee system. As a result, Han Dong-hoon, the head of the People's Power, resigned from his position on the 16th.

Jin said, "I deeply apologize to the people and the party members as I was a member of the leadership as I failed to prevent emergency martial law and my desire for orderly resignation was frustrated and I looked at Han's resignation today."

"I don't think representative Han is solely responsible for the current political situation of people's power. "I know more than anyone else how Chung-jeong feels about the country and the people of Han," he said, adding, "You worked really hard and I'm sorry I couldn't protect you."
