The monthly increase in house prices across the country, including Seoul, fell sharply for the second consecutive month and the increase in jeonse prices eased, but the monthly rent increased.
The Seoul apartment sales price index for October, released by the Korea Real Estate Agency today, rose 0.43 percent from the previous month, down from 1.27 percent and 0.79 percent gains in August and September, respectively.
The nationwide apartment price growth rate in October was only 0.08%, down sharply from 0.23% in the previous month.
Overall home sales, including non-apartments, also saw gains across the country and in Seoul fall to 0.07% and 0.33%, respectively, half of the previous month.
In October, the average increase in jeonse prices for all housing types across the country and in Seoul was 0.16 percent and 0.30 percent, respectively, down from the previous month's increase.
However, the monthly rent of all houses nationwide increased from 0.11% in September to 0.13% in October, and the increase in monthly rent of apartments nationwide increased from 0.14% in September to 0.16% in October.
