National Tax Service Commissioner Kang Min-soo to "Keep Taxpayer Information Passwords" at OECD Meeting

In an international conference attended by the head of the National Tax Service in major countries, Kang Min-soo, the head of the National Tax Service, said that the Korean National Tax Service encrypts and stores all taxpayers' personal information.

The National Tax Service said Kang made the remarks at the 17th meeting of the Director of the National Tax Service of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Athens, Greece from the 13th to the 15th.

The OECD meeting of the heads of the National Tax Service is the highest-level meeting under the OECD to discuss issues of interest in tax administration, and the meeting was attended by OECD member countries such as the United States, Japan, and France, as well as heads of the National Tax Service from 53 countries, including China and India, and international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

In a session presentation, Commissioner Kang explained the case of digital innovation using artificial intelligence (AI) technology from the Korean National Tax Service.

Director Kang also introduced "Intelligent Hometax," which provides AI search to make it easier to find the services you want, saying that the success rate of phone calls for national tax counseling has risen sharply from 26% to 98%, through the AI national tax counseling service that was first conducted in May this year.
