2024.12.20 AM 02:13
The Jungang Line Railway, which runs from Seoul to Busan through Wonju, Jecheon, and Gyeongju, has been reborn as a double-track subway for the entire section and will start operating today (20th).

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport held a ceremony yesterday afternoon at Andong Station in North Gyeongsang Province, attended by about 300 local governments, lawmakers, railway officials and residents.

The Jungang Line, which opened in 1942, started with Cheongnyang-ri-Deokso in 2010 and completed the double-track electrification project between Dodam and Yeongcheon, the last section.

Starting today, KTX-Ieum will operate six round trips a day between Cheongnyangni-Ulsan and Busan, and ITX-Mind will operate four round trips a day, replacing the existing Mugunghwa.
