Korea's exports from the 1st to the 20th increased 6.8% year-on-year.
The Korea Customs Service said exports reached $40.3 billion from the 1st to the 20th, up slightly from $37.7 billion in the same period last year.
It is also up slightly from $35.5 billion in exports during the same period last month.
In the same period, imports amounted to $39 billion, with the trade balance surplus of $1.3 billion.
By sub-items, semiconductors rose 23.4% for exports, auto parts rose 8.9% and petroleum products fell 14.6%.
China was the largest exporter with $8.1 billion and 20%, followed by the United States with $8 billion.
