The second trial sentence of Hwang Chul-soon (41), a health trainer and YouTuber who was sentenced to prison in the first trial for assaulting a female acquaintance, was postponed.

The Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Appeals Department 2-1 (Chief Judges Kwak Jung-han, Kang Hee-seok, and Cho Eun-ah) postponed the sentence to the 13th of next month, saying further discussions are needed on Hwang, who was indicted on charges of assault and injury.Hwang

made an additional deposit of 30 million won at the appeal trial, but the victim said he had no intention of receiving the deposit. Hwang also deposited 20 million won in the first trial, but the victim refused to receive it and pleaded for severe punishment.

"I think we need to think a little more about how to reflect the defendant's additional deposit," the court said. "If (the victim) expressed his intention a week ago, the court would have discussed it enough, but yesterday (the intention to refuse) came."

Hwang, who appeared on tvN's "Comedy Big League" and made his name known as "Jing Man" by hitting gongs, was put on trial in February on charges of punching and kicking his face more than 20 times in the face and head while arguing with the victim in the outdoor parking lot of the building in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, at around 3 a.m. on October 16 last year.Hwang

threw the victim's cell phone on the floor, kicked the side mirror of the car, and damaged it, grabbed the victim's hair, dragged him to the car, sat him in the passenger seat, and assaulted him with his hand, according to the investigation. In the process, the victim suffered injuries such as fractures that required three weeks of treatment.

The first trial sentenced Hwang to one year in prison in July. Hwang appealed against the court ruling on the 12th of the same month. Hwang applied for bail to the court and was rejected.

The victim also reportedly filed a lawsuit against Hwang for damages worth 150 million won.
