"Don't report suicide as much as possible"...revision of the rules for reporting suicide

The "Suicide Prevention Reporting Code 4.0" was announced that suicide incidents would not be reported as much as possible.

Under the first principle of refraining from reporting suicide, it is said that detailed methods, motives, and places will not be disclosed if they are inevitably reported.

In addition, there was a recommendation that the deceased personality and the privacy of the bereaved family should be respected and suicide prevention information should be provided together.

According to the changed media environment, one-person media must also comply with the rules.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare, together with the Korea Life Respect Hope Foundation and the Korea Journalists Association, revised the recommended suicide report standard 3.0 to prepare this rule.
