Access to the National Court's website was temporarily delayed this afternoon.

The DDoS attack is suspected, but unlike last year's hacking attack, there was no abnormality in the court's internal network.

I'm connecting with the reporter, reporter Kim Cheol-hee!

Is the connection still delayed?

[Reporter]
Yes, access to the websites of courts at all levels, including the Supreme Court, was blocked or delayed for about an hour from around 3:21 p.m.

Currently, most of them have smooth access to the website as usual.

The sudden connection delay was caused by an external attack attempt.

An official from the Supreme Court's Office of Court Administration explained that the so-called "DDoS Suspected Attack," which intentionally paralyzed the server by congesting the amount of access, was detected and blocked.

In the process, the Supreme Court explained that user access was temporarily delayed due to the concentration of access to certain websites.

Last year, a North Korean hacker group and Lazarus hacked the Supreme Court's computer network, and personal information was transferred.

The disconnection this time was limited to the "court website" that provides public services such as case search.

As it has been found that there are no problems with electronic lawsuits, court internal networks, and Internet registry offices, there will be no significant damage to trials or judicial functions.

The Ministry of National Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Ministry of Environment were attacked by DDoS the day before yesterday.

At the time, the government assumed that the main agent of the attack was a pro-Russian hacking group.

Currently, the court administration is checking the exact extent and cause of the damage, and we will tell you again as soon as we hear the details.

So far, I'm Kim Chul-hee of YTN in the Supreme Court.
