The civic group People's Economic Research Institute and Candlelight Action said they filed a complaint with the National Investigation Headquarters in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul today (7th) against President Yoon Suk Yeol and former lawmaker Kim Young-sun on charges of public office election law, abuse of authority, and bribery.

They held a press conference before submitting the complaint and claimed that President Yoon and his wife illegally intervened in the process of former lawmaker Kim Young-sun being nominated as a candidate for the People's Power in the 2022 by-election and violated the Public Official Election Act.

He stressed the need for a thorough investigation, saying that suspicions are growing that not only by-election but also local elections, general elections, and party leadership races were involved.

They also claimed that President Yoon violated the Political Fund Act by conducting a poll through Myung Tae-kyun during the presidential election and not paying 370 million won in expenses.
