A wanted gangster was arrested by police who were on a walking patrol while sharing bundles of money at a cafe.
The Gyeonggi Northern Office Mobile Patrol arrested a man in his 30s who was wanted on charges of special injuries at a street cafe in Ilsan-dong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do at around 6:30 p.m. on the 31st of last month.
The police questioned six men, including A, because they were suspicious of sharing a 50,000 won cash bundle at a cafe terrace.
A presented someone else's ID card and tried to run away when the police asked for fingerprint matching, saying the photo and face did not match, but he was arrested on charges of violating the resident registration law.
According to the police investigation, A was a gangster in Daegu and Pohang, and he had been wanted for a total of 14 cases, including three arrest warrants for special injuries and one wanted fine, for five years from 2019.
Mr. A, who was handed over to the Daegu-area police station, was sent to the prosecution in custody.
