Prosecutors have said they will consider whether to appeal the court's sentence of one year in prison and two years of probation for violating the Public Official Election Act against Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said it will closely review the first trial's ruling at around 5 p.m. today (15th) to decide whether to appeal or not.
In September 2022, the prosecution decided that CEO Lee announced false information about his relationship with the late Kim Moon-ki, the former head of the development department of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, and how he changed the use area of the Baekhyun-dong project site.
