KCTU executives sentenced to prison for demanding to hire union members and blocking construction vehicles.

Officials of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, who demanded to hire union members and interfered with their work by blocking construction vehicles with their bodies, were sentenced to prison.

The Uijeongbu District Court sentenced two people, including a senior member of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, to a year and a half in prison and a fine of 500,000 won, respectively.

Another official, B, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, and C was sentenced to one and a half years in prison.

In early 2021, they demanded that the head of the construction company fire other union workers and hire members of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions at apartment construction sites in Yangju and Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

When the construction company refused, it blocked the access road to prevent trucks and ready-mixed concrete from entering the construction site,

I intentionally threw thousands of coins on the floor and interfered with the construction.

The court blamed the victims for hundreds of millions of won in damage and the residents suffered from noise pollution and traffic congestion.
