The government has decided to inspect 400,000 people with signs of crisis to excavate welfare blind spots in winter.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare said at a meeting of ministers related to state affairs today that it has set up measures to find and support vulnerable households in winter in order to support the vulnerable.

The measures included local governments inspecting 400,000 households in welfare crisis by using 47 types of information that can check signs of crisis such as power cuts, water supply, and arrears of health insurance premiums.

It will also strengthen support for heating expenses for vulnerable households, which will raise the amount of energy vouchers provided to the elderly and infants among households receiving basic living security by 10,000 won to pay 314,000 won per year, and extend the period of use by one month.

We will also provide 400,000 won per month to 69,000 senior citizens nationwide for five months and pay 300,000 to 1 million won per month to 7,000 state-funded social welfare facilities depending on the size.
