The prosecution has set out to secure a recruit for Hong Won-sik, former chairman of Namyang Dairy Co., who is accused of embezzlement worth 20 billion won.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office said today (22nd) that it has filed an arrest warrant for former chairman Hong and former research director Park on charges of breach of trust and embezzlement under the Specific Economic Crime Aggravated Punishment Act.

Former chairman Hong and others are accused of taking billions of won in back money from suppliers in exchange for transactions.

Former chairman Hong is also accused of causing 10 billion won in losses to the company by inserting a business run by his relative into the transaction, appointing a supplier representative as a company auditor, and returning his salary or misusing corporate cards.

In addition, the arrest warrant also reportedly included former chairman Hong's order to remove evidence related to his allegations, including mobile phones, during the 2021 Bulgari incident.

Earlier in August, Namyang Dairy filed a complaint against former chairman Hong and three former executives, saying they suspected Hong of embezzling and betraying 20 billion won.

Following the seizure and search of former chairman Hong's home last month, the prosecution summoned former chairman Hong as a suspect on the 18th and the day before yesterday (20th).
