The Joint Task Force on Aborting AI Digital Textbooks, consisting of 126 civil and social organizations, held a press conference in front of the government's Seoul building and called for a complete end to the introduction of AI textbooks.
The joint task force claimed that the Ministry of Education is pushing AI textbooks in a hasty manner, ignoring various issues such as dependence on digital devices, lack of school infrastructure, and waste of budget.
He also criticized that AI textbooks that make classrooms a laboratory are fundamentally wrong policies, saying that the priority of policy promotion should not be "the world's first introduction" but "the best" for children.
The task force stressed that the Ministry of Education should immediately withdraw the introduction of AI textbooks even now, and that a public debate committee should be formed at the National Assembly to properly verify suspicions and problems related to policy implementation.
