The appeals trial of Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, is expected to begin next month on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act, which had been delayed as litigation-related records were not served.
The Seoul High Court confirmed that Lee Jae-myung's notice of receipt of litigation records was delivered at the National Assembly Hall.
As a result, Lee must submit his appeal to the Seoul High Court, a second trial court, by the 7th of next month.
Earlier, the Seoul High Court sent a notice of receipt of litigation records by mail twice, but it was not served, and there were criticisms that representative Lee intentionally delayed the trial.
