Prosecutors indict Yangju Mayor Kang Soo-hyun on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act

The Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office said on the 11th that it has indicted Kang Soo-hyun, mayor of Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.

Mayor Kang is accused of turning envelopes containing $100 in the name of transportation expenses to city councilors who are about to travel to Europe in August last year.

Earlier in October last year, the Democratic Party of Korea's Gyeonggi Provincial Party filed a complaint against Mayor Kang to the police, and in July, the police sent the case to the prosecution, judging that it could violate the Public Official Election Act.The first trial of the

river market will be held on the 17th of next month.
