The Overseas Koreans' Office has announced that it will invite Korean teenagers and young people in Japan to hold the "Korean Understanding Course Winter Course."
The Overseas Koreans' Office explained that the process, which starts on the 28th at Gyeongin National University of Education in Anyang and runs until January 5th next year, will involve 16 Korean Japanese youth and teenagers invited from all over Japan.
Participants will learn Korean instruments, taekwondo classes, K-pop experiences, and Korean history classes to broaden their understanding of their home countries.
The next generation of Koreans will visit the DMZ on New Year's Day to reflect on the value of peace and spend a special New Year in their home country, such as visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace and wearing hanbok.
Lee Sang-deok, head of the Overseas Koreans Agency, said, "Koreans in Japan have been living together when they were in trouble," adding, "I hope that the next generation of Koreans in Japan will grow into private diplomats connecting the two countries based on Korean identity and pride."
The 'Korean Understanding Course' is a program that invites the next generation of overseas Koreans to strengthen their bond with their mother country while experiencing Korean language, history education, and culture.
