Biden calls for 'immediate ceasefire' on Israel-Hezbollah

U.S. President Joe Biden has called for an immediate cease-fire on Israel and Hezbollah.

Asked about the possibility of Israel's limited ground war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, President Biden said at a press conference on hurricane damage at the White House on the 30th local time, "We need to make a ceasefire now."

He also stressed that "I know more than you can tell, and I will be relieved if they stop fighting," as to whether he is aware of Israel's ground war plans.

Earlier, the Washington Post and other U.S. media reported that Israeli forces are gathering large numbers of troops at Lebanon's border in preparation for ground war.
