At least eight people have died in the Philippines due to heavy rain and strong winds brought by the super typhoon Mani.

Reuters and the Associated Press reported on the morning of the 18th local time that a landslide buried a house in Nuebabiskaya, Luzon Island, northern Philippines, killing seven family members.

It also said strong winds caused a traffic accident in the province of Camarines Norte on Luzon Island, killing one person.

In Isabella province, Luzon Island, more than 100 villages and cities suffered power outages as heavy rains caused water to be released from dams, flooding more than 500 homes in nearby cities.

During his visit to the Philippines, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Mann provided emergency humanitarian aid to the Philippines of 1 million dollars and 1.4 billion won in our money to respond.

It is the sixth typhoon to hit the Philippines in the last month or so.

Since late last month, five typhoons have hit the Philippines in a row, starting with Typhoon Trami, followed by Kongrey, Insing, Bellflower, and Usagi.
