China "Clean up voice phishing organizations in northern Myanmar...53,000 people have been arrested so far.

Chinese authorities have announced that they have wiped out a voice phishing organization on the border with Myanmar.

China's Ministry of Public Security said it recently worked with local police in the north to arrest 1,079 voice phishing criminals, of which 763 were taken over.

State-run CCTV said the Ministry of Public Security has conducted a special crackdown on voice phishing organizations in Myanmar since last year, arresting more than 53,000 Chinese suspects so far.

However, he added that the crackdown will continue, saying that fraudulent organizations are moving their bases, luring, locking up, assaulting, or even killing Chinese people.
