On the same day that the Israeli security cabinet approved the ceasefire, Israeli forces heavily bombed Lebanon, resulting in a series of casualties.
Israeli forces launched airstrikes this afternoon after issuing evacuation warnings in central Lebanon's capital Beirut.
It has also carried out dozens of airstrikes outside Beirut and in southern Lebanon, including in the Dahiye region, Hezbollah's main stronghold.
Israel's military said in a statement that financial institutions linked to Hezbollah, rocket launchers and weapons storage were targeted.
Lebanon's health ministry said Israeli airstrikes killed 10 people and injured dozens in central Beirut alone, with casualties elsewhere.
On the ground in southern Lebanon, Israeli troops from the 91st Division are said to have attacked terrorist facilities around the Ritani River, destroying dozens of rocket launchers.
Israeli media reported that it is the first time in 20 years that an Israeli soldier has entered the Ritani River region.
