China Says "Talking About Catching Floating Clouds" Over Rumors of Corruption by Defense Minister

Chinese authorities have completely denied British media reports that Defense Minister Dongjun is being investigated for corruption.

When a related question was asked at a regular briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Ning, he replaced the answer with four letters, "捕風捉影, holding the wind and holding the shadow."

Last year, China's Foreign Ministry avoided answering questions about high-ranking officials such as Foreign Minister Chin Kang and Defense Minister Li Sang-fu, saying they were not familiar with them or asking related departments.

However, this time, he strongly denied it as if he had been waiting even though it was related to another ministry.

Earlier, the British Financial Times (FT) quoted former and current U.S. officials as saying that Chinese Defense Minister Dongjun is being investigated for corruption.
