The Embassy in China said it will hold a ceremony for Ambassador Chung's departure at the embassy in Beijing on the afternoon of the 10th of next month.

Korean residents in China, diplomats from each country, and Chinese officials will attend the ceremony.

However, an embassy official explained that the specific timing of Ambassador Jeong's return and the appointment of former presidential chief of staff Kim Dae-ki, who was appointed as his successor, have not yet been determined.

Ambassador Jeong, who served as a professor of political and foreign affairs at Seoul National University and was appointed as an ambassador to China in 2022, is President Yoon and Chungam High School alumni.

It is known that China's deputy representative to the United Nations Diving (戴兵) has been appointed to replace Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Xing Haiming, who was replaced prior to Ambassador Jeong.
