Russia has claimed that the West is seeking to deploy so-called peacekeepers to effectively capture Ukraine.

Russia's Foreign Intelligence Agency (SVR) said in a statement on 29th local time that the West could try to capture Ukraine under the pretext of sending 100,000 peacekeepers.

It also said Western countries planned to divide Ukraine's territory, and expected Britain to control the Black Sea coast, including Romania in western Ukraine, Poland in western Ukraine, Germany in central and eastern Germany and the north, including the capital Kyiv.

At the same time, NATO said it was trying to freeze the conflict in Ukraine as chances of a strategic defeat to Russia on the battlefield became less likely and said it viewed the freeze as an opportunity for Ukraine to prepare for revenge.

He added that NATO is opening facilities to train more than 1 million Ukrainian mobilization soldiers.

In response to the Foreign Intelligence Agency's comments on peacekeepers, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a briefing that the deployment of peacekeepers must be agreed with Russia, saying it must be agreed upon by the parties to the conflict.
