Kaya Kallas, the EU's new head of foreign affairs and security, mentioned the idea of sending troops to Ukraine as soon as she took office.

According to EU media outlet Euractiv, Kallas told reporters on his visit to Kyiv, Ukraine, on the 1st local time, that no options should be excluded and that he believes strategic ambiguity should be maintained on the issue of dispatch.

He also insisted that troops should be sent to Ukraine to verify that the ceasefire agreement is kept, saying that the EU could play a role in future ceasefire negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

"In any case, it is up to Ukraine to make the choice in this regard," he said, adding that the strongest security guarantee for Ukraine is NATO membership.Asked about what the EU could do more to expand its support for Ukraine, senior representative
