Ahead of Trump's inauguration next month, President Joe Biden has approved a national security memorandum with guidelines for responding to deepening relations between Russia, China, North Korea and Iran, the Associated Press reported.
The National Security Memorandum includes improving cooperation between U.S. government agencies and speeding up information sharing on allies, North China, Russia and Iran, the news agency said.
It also determined that Russia provided fighter jets, missile defense, and space technology to Iran, which supports the war in Ukraine, and gave fuel, money, and technology to North Korea and recognized it as a de facto nuclear power.
Russia receives dual-use parts needed to support its defense industry base in China, and is engaged in patrol activities with China in the Arctic.
President Biden ordered a reorganization of the U.S. government to better focus on pending issues related to North Korea, China, Russia and Iran, which are organized regionally.
However, Trump, who will take office in January next year, will decide whether to implement the strategies and policy proposals contained in the memorandum.
A senior Biden administration official said he doesn't think the incoming administration will find anything to force or tilt the administration to take any policy options.
