U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has said he is coordinating a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump said he was preparing for the meeting, saying he was hoping Putin would meet before a meeting with Republican governors at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, on the 9th local time.
However, he did not disclose a specific schedule for the talks.
Trump has emphasized an early end to the war in Ukraine, even professing during his campaign that "if he takes office, he can end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours."
Trump met with Ukrainian President Zelensky in Paris last month in a three-way meeting with French President Macron to check the situation.
