Sports Ethics Center, Chairman Chung Mong-gyu, and other officials of the Korea Football Association are demanding disciplinary action.

The Sports Ethics Center judged that there was a defect in the process of appointing Hong Myung-bo, the head coach of the national soccer team, and demanded the government to discipline three high-ranking officials, including Chung Mong-kyu, chairman of the Korea Football Association.

The Sports Ethics Center investigated Hong Myung-bo's appointment process and asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to discipline him, judging that Chairman Chung Mong-gyu violated his duty of integrity in his work.

Vice Chairman Kim Jung-bae and technical director Lee Im-saeng were also included in the request for disciplinary action.

The Ethics Center judged that the process of Lee Im-saeng, the technical director, being delegated the authority of the Korea Football Association's power reinforcement committee and finally selecting Hong Myung-bo was a groundless administration.

In particular, he pointed out that the director Lee's failure to leave and share interviews with the candidates for director also undermined objectivity and fairness.
