The September heat wave is at its peak, with temperatures in Gangseo, Seoul soaring to 37 degrees Celsius today.

Tomorrow, if it rains across the country, the heat wave will slow down temporarily, but the 13th typhoon is expected to occur overnight on the far South Sea, acting as a variable in the weather of the Chuseok holiday.

I'll connect you with a reporter for more information. Reporter Jang Ayoung!

Let's look at the heat first, the temperature has already risen significantly?

[Reporter]
Yes, the temperature is rising significantly as it becomes midday.

As of 1 p.m., Gangseo area in Seoul is 37.1 degrees and Mapo is 36.8 degrees.

Lee Dongmook-ri in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, soared to 36.7 degrees, and Okcheon-myeon in Yangpyeong soared to 38 degrees.

The highest temperature in the metropolitan area is usually 26 degrees at this time of year, and the temperature is about 10 degrees higher than today.

Currently, a heat wave warning has been issued in most parts of the country, and the temperature has risen to around 33 degrees, making it very hot.

The unusual autumn heat wave is expected to ease for a while with rain across the country tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

However, it's raining after the heat wave, so there's a lot for autumn rain.

It is expected to rain up to 100mm in the mountains of Jeju Island and up to 80mm in the inland, so caution is needed.

It is said that the 13th typhoon occurred overnight, will it affect the weather of the holiday season?

[Reporter]
Yes, it's the 13th typhoon, Verbinka.
The
typhoon occurred last night, so the overall path for the holiday is still very flexible.

However, it is expected to develop into a strong typhoon between Sunday and Monday, early after Chuseok, and to move north to the sea near Shanghai, China.

Currently, the Korea Meteorological Administration, the U.S. Joint Typhoon Warning Center, and the Japan Meteorological Administration are all expecting the same course.

Since then, the course has been fluid, and the forecasting model simulates that the typhoon is more likely to head toward China as the hot high pressure is currently located in the upper layers of Korea.

However, even so, the typhoon's heat is expected to have an indirect effect on the marine weather, such as a significant rise in temperature throughout the holiday or a high wave near Jeju Island.

The Korea Meteorological Administration will announce detailed holiday weather tomorrow.
