Super-strong typhoon 'Kuraton' weakens its power as it moves north...the southeastern wind and rain of the holiday season

Typhoon "Kuraton," which is feared to affect the Korean Peninsula, is expected to develop into a super-strong typhoon and then pass near Taiwan, greatly weakening its power.

The Korea Meteorological Administration held an occasional briefing today and said Typhoon 'Kuraton', which is currently passing through Taiwan's southern waters, is expected to stagnate further in warm waters due to the two strong high pressures around it.

As a result, typhoons are expected to become stronger from strong to super strong in the future.

However, over the next two nights and three days, Taiwan will pass at a slow pace, hitting shallow waters and high mountain ranges in the west, greatly weakening its intensity from super-strong to moderate.

After the typhoon advances into the northeastern waters of Taiwan, the path and intensity of the typhoon are expected to vary depending on the surrounding barometer conditions such as the upper atmospheric trough.

In particular, the Korea Meteorological Administration analyzed that the typhoon is likely to affect the Korean Peninsula in the form of a strong low pressure with significantly weakened power after passing Taiwan.

Prior to this, during the stepping-stone holiday, Korea needs to be careful as typhoon steam and northern cold air are expected to blow strong rain and wind to the southeast and high waves at sea.
