Following the day before yesterday (5th), when the temperature dropped significantly as if it had been ahead of the season in a day, the cold weather continued yesterday.
While temperatures are about 5 degrees lower nationwide than the day before yesterday,
Yesterday morning, the central part of Daegwallyeong fell below zero, including minus 3.6 degrees Celsius and minus 2.5 degrees Celsius in Paju, not only in the mountains but also in inland areas.
Seoul also broke its lowest temperature in one day this fall, with 4.1 degrees Celsius.
As the temperature decreased, the first frost was observed this fall in Seoul, Suwon, and Bukchuncheon, especially in Bukchuncheon.
As the cold continental high pressure expanded in the north, the temperature fell significantly, and then the cold air continued to descend, and the temperature fell further.
[Woo Jin-gyu / Meteorological Agency Information Officer: Generally, the temperature drops in the morning and then the temperature increases during the day due to the sunlight, but the temperature does not rise during the day due to the continuous inflow of cold air.]
Today, which is the season of 'Ipdong', the cold becomes stronger to live up to its name.
[Kim Byung-kwon / Meteorological Agency forecaster: Thursday morning's temperature will drop one to two degrees Celsius from the previous day, the lowest temperature this fall, and there will be frost in most inland areas of the country, so please pay attention to crop management.]
This morning, the temperature in Seoul will be 2 degrees, which is about 2 degrees lower than yesterday.
Some central inland areas, including Daegwallyeong and Paju, Cheorwon, and Cheonan, are expected to be around 5 degrees in the south, including minus 3 degrees, Daegu 3 degrees, and Gwangju 4 degrees.
In particular, strong winds are expected to lower the wind chill in some areas today.
The Korea Meteorological Administration predicts that the cold will peak this morning and then gradually ease back to normal temperatures.
