The flames are burning as hard as they can engulf the building.

The smoke that rises with the embers spreads throughout the area in the wind.

The fire broke out at around 6:30 p.m. yesterday at the 55th supply window of the U.S. Forces Korea in Dong-gu, Busan.

[Bae Jae Yoon / Fire caller: There was a lot of smoke, so I saw some fire near the entrance. So I called 119, but there was a little red light near the entrance and it was a little dark near the crosswalk.]

Fire authorities took the second stage of response to mobilize all personnel and equipment from nearby fire stations and worked with the U.S. fire brigade to extinguish the fire.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, and a big fire was caught at dawn.

[Management ceremony / Fire Witness: There was a bang. At first, the fire was small, but it kept pushing, so it's burning this way as a flag bearer.]

The fire is believed to have started in a freezer in the unit.

A fire report was filed about an hour after the workers who carried out the piping work left the site.

Construction materials, urethane, and rubber were stored, and there were no munitions or harmful chemicals.

The fire spread quickly because the warehouse was made of sandwich panels that were vulnerable to fire.

When a lot of smoke occurred at the scene of the fire, the Busan Metropolitan Government sent a disaster text message to nearby residents to be careful about inhaling smoke.

Fortunately, the wind blew to the coast, which is on the other side of the city, so the damage from the smoke was not significant.

The 55 supply window on fire is a military facility that stores U.S. military equipment brought into Busan Port, where outsiders' access and leakage of internal information are strictly controlled.

In this fire, only firefighters were allowed to enter the scene, and the police only controlled traffic from the outside.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is also expected to be conducted after consultation with the U.S. Forces Korea.
