A worker in his 50s who was working on removing a telephone pole in Geumma-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, was electrocuted and died at around 8 a.m. today (4th).

Police found that the dead worker was an employee of a subcontractor of Korea Electric Power Corporation and worked in groups of two at the time of the accident.

Police believe that the accident occurred when electricity flowed due to the high-voltage line in the process of moving the demolished telephone pole.

The Daejeon Employment and Labor Administration is investigating business officials for compliance with safety rules and violations of the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
