[Seoul] Preparing the nation's first "Crisis Pregnant Women's Shelter"...Operations from December

The Seoul Metropolitan Government will set up a dedicated shelter for the first time in Korea for crisis pregnant women who have difficulty giving birth and raising due to unexpected pregnancy, economic, psychological and physical reasons.

signed a business agreement with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and decided to operate 10 purchased rental houses as spaces for pregnant women in crisis starting next month.

Even now, pregnant women in crisis who need housing support can enter single-parent family welfare facilities, but in some cases, they need individual protection instead of living in the facility, so they have set up a dedicated shelter, the city explained.

Anyone in crisis who is suffering from an unexpected pregnancy can receive confidential counseling 24 hours a day through the phone (☎1551-1099) or Kakao Talk channel "Counseling Support for Pregnant Women in Crisis."
