highway crashed down a slope after colliding with a lorry, injuring 22 people, and killing the driver in a series of crashes on the national highway.

At dawn, a commuter bus carrying Hankook Tire employees crossed the curb of the median strip and collided with an 18-ton truck coming from the opposite side near Geumsan Interchange on Tongyeong Daejeon Expressway.

There were 23 people on the commuter bus, including a driver in his 50s, and 22 were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The police measured the blood alcohol level of the bus driver and confirmed that he was not drunk.

The accident point is a curved section where the highway enters and exits.

The bus driver reportedly told police that the car had slipped in the rain.

However, the police checked the black box of the truck and found that the bus driver's steering wheel was not properly operated.
